Description

Want to make 300 BLK case from 5.56/223 and use your shop saw to do it?

You will need a jig to hold the cases so that you can safely feed them through the saw.   This jig holds 10 cases firmly and square to the fence.   You can run it through your table-saw, mitersaw, vertical bandsaw, or hold it in the jaws of your drop arm bandsaw.

Many years ago when I got into 300 BLK, I built my own jigs from wood.   I went to make more cases recently and thought, hmm… I could improve this and make it out of 3D printed plastic.    So I did.   If you have a power miter saw, bandsaw, or table saw:  wIth our jig there is no need to buy another saw or fiddly little holders for micro chop saws.   You can use these jigs to make 300BLK fast.  Faster and cheaper than the ‘fiddly one at a time mini chop saw’ set ups.

Use instructions:

  1.  Figure out how you will hold the jig or orient your saw’s rip fence to just miss cutting the empty jig.  About 1/16″ clearance will work well.  (some saws, like miter saws will need clamps and blocks to index this jig firmly against the fence)
  2.  Orient the jig with the 10 holes facing up and place 10 cases into the jig then snug the 4 top most wing nuts.
  3. Snug the two lower wing nuts.
  4. Resnug the 4 top wing nuts then recheck the two lower wing nuts.  Warning:  You need to snug these nuts to keep the cases from turning/coming out of the jig.
  5. WIth the wing nuts oriented up, run the Jig through the saw to cut the shoulders off of the 10 cases while just missing the jig (don’t cut the jig, just the case necks)
  6. Lightly loosen the two lower wing nuts, then the 4 top wing nuts and dump the cut cases out.  Repeat 1-6 as needed to cut all your cases.

NEXT STEP ADVICE: It is best to debur the case mouths before running the cut cases through the 300 BLK Full Length Resize Die (FLRS… also remember to lube the cases properly).   After the FLRS die, run the cases through a final specialize trim die (I use a Little Crow in my drill press),  debur, and you are ready to, clean primer pockets, remove primer crimps (if you started with crimped primer 5.56 brass), (tumble if you want) prime and load!
