Yes we still make these, and demand is high. If you want one we suggest you make your order now! Please trust that we are still making/selling these.
This is the only 209 system you’ll ever want on your Remington 700 ML/MLS that was manufactured from 1995-2005 (NOT FOR THE ULTIMATE MUZZLE LOADER). The installed kit makes your 700 ML work like the Savage 10 ML-II. The bolt nose holds a 209 primer and feeds it into a replacement breach plug. The breech plug has a 209 “flash chamber” with 17-4 Stainless “Savage type Vent-Liner.” The nose and the breech plug are heat treated 416 stainless steel. The kit also comes with a new pin. Say good bye to blow back, and special priming/de-priming tools. Sealing the breech and switching to 209 primers will also broaden the powders you can use with your 700ML or MLS such as Blackhorn209.
Our kit is for Black Powder/Black Powder substitute rifles with the original Remington barrels. Never use smokeless powders in black powder rifles!!!
You really should see the posts in The Badger’s Den for why we think this is the best thing since sliced bread. Though we recommend professional installation (we offer it; just add it to your cart before you check out), there is a complete guide to installation in the reference section (you should go read the online installation guide to be sure you have the tools and skills to DIY if you are considering that option).
If you decide to DIY, we recommend replacing the main spring, (a new mainspring is included with the complete kit). Also if you plan on DIY, we recommend you pull your bolt apart and clean everything before you buy your kit: it helps you be certain of the condition of the parts, and order everything you need. For instance, in rare cases your rifle may have an un-threaded cocking piece. If you have an un-threaded cocking piece please let us know in the note to seller portion of the check out system (as you complete the online purchase of your kit there is a window where you can write us a note: if you need special stuff tell us there!).
Purchase installation for any kit by adding the “Installation Service” to your cart before you check out, then mail us your bolt. Click here for the details. The address to mail your bolt to will be emailed to you on your electronic receipt. (If you purchase installation, you don’t need to take the bolt apart; we’ll handle it if it has an unthreaded cocking piece).
You may need to ‘tune’ your breech plug to your choice of primers (click here to see a tutorial on the process). This is done by gently reaming the very end of the breech plug’s flash chamber with a letter C drill bit. We ship letter C bits with our complete kits.
Need a new bolt body? We sometimes sell them as well! We have lots of 700 ML parts and accessories. Don’t forget to add on some important things to your cart to save on shipping like:
– MMP Sabots
– Letter C drill bits
– Vent-liners
– 7/64 Hex L wrenches (for vent liners)
– New stripped Stainless Bolt Bodies with Handle
– .036 ZZ Pin Gages to measure vent liners orifices
– Remington 700ML Bolt Stop Cam Follower Screw
If something is out of stock, we’ll reach out to you: we will work hard to ensure it won’t be unavailable for more that a few weeks.
Charles Burns –
Shot my 700 ML today after installing my new Badger-Ridge sealed breach 209 system. It was awesome almost no blow back, no burnt scope or dirty bolt. These guys are top notch. Sent my bolt in and it came back with a full set of instructions. A little tuning I cannot believe the results. My hat goes off to you Mr. AWESOME JOB! CMBurns WV

This sealed breech system is excellent. I had taken my 700 ML out to the range using the original 209 primer set up from Remington. The results were sketchy at best. I had a lot of blowback, and even delayed charge ignition (like shooting a fightlock rifle). I discovered this system and decided to try it. I sent in my bolt in to have it installed. Got it back a few weeks later, did the necessary tuning and headed to the range. What a difference, no blowback, very good accuracy, and no delayed ignition. Thanks for the fast turn around, and excellent product. A+++
